Expanding Symmetry
Inspired by such artists as M.C. Escher, H.R. Giger, Guy Aitchison and mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot, I decided to produce a visual narrative paying homage to the Biomechanical Art genre. An experimental exploration utilising various applications to have euclidean geometry, a mathematical equation used to trigger an ongoing feedback loop to create infinitely complex shapes. Fractal self-similarity in a sequence of reiterations is used in this concept via the Mandelbrot Set to generate spiral-like formations, an illustrative discovery practice in creating natural flowing abstract compositions. Adobe Photoshop and Maxon Cinema 4D assisted in bringing these intricate arrangements to their final destination.
